Equipment selection guide

Prepare the selection brief

Define the load

Provide maximum and minimum flow, water chemistry, treatment objective and peak operating load.

Confirm the interfaces

Agree piping or service connections, electrical supply, control interfaces, installation access and the routine cleaning method.

Agree the scope

Specify the included equipment, optional configurations, commissioning tasks, acceptance conditions and documentation required.

Operating principle

How it works

Water passes a UV lamp zone where radiation can inactivate susceptible microorganisms. Delivered dose depends on flow, UV transmittance, lamp output, fouling and hydraulic exposure.

Technical approach

Key considerations

  • Channel and in-line configurations are documented.
  • Low-pressure quartz lamp systems with adjustable operating power are described.
  • Level interlocks are described for channel units.

Equipment selection guide

Provide flow, UV transmittance, target organism and treatment objective. The brochure’s >99% statement lacks a complete dose-and-test schedule and is not used here as a universal performance promise.

Questions & answers

Can one removal percentage cover every operating condition?

No. The source itself gives inlet-water limits for its reported result. A project specification must also define UV dose, flow and the treatment target.

Are HXZW and HXUS the same series?

The current company brochure uses HXZW; earlier supplied equipment artwork uses HXUS. Series identity requires manufacturer confirmation.
