Equipment selection guide

Prepare the selection brief

Define the load

Provide maximum and minimum flow, water chemistry, treatment objective and peak operating load.

Confirm the interfaces

Agree piping or service connections, electrical supply, control interfaces, installation access and the routine cleaning method.

Agree the scope

Specify the included equipment, optional configurations, commissioning tasks, acceptance conditions and documentation required.

Operating principle

How it works

Fine bubbles provide an interface to which surface-active organic compounds and fine particles can attach. The foam rises to a collection zone and is removed from the water stream.

Technical approach

Key considerations

  • Designed for marine aquaculture applications.
  • The brochure describes automatic collection-cup cleaning.
  • Dual-pump arrangements are described; duty selection remains project-specific.

Equipment selection guide

Provide salinity, treatment flow, organic loading and operating water levels. Any ozone-assisted configuration requires a separately engineered contact and residual-control arrangement.

Questions & answers

Is a skimmer the same as a drum filter?

No. The training distinguishes screened solids from colloidal and surface-active organic material removed by foam fractionation.

Is it required for every freshwater system?

The training describes marine RAS as its main application and freshwater use as project-dependent. Selection should follow the water and process requirements.
